Police arrested former lawmaker Severo Colberg Toro on Wednesday afternoon in Mayagüez for drug possession.
According to the police report, Colberg Toro, 71, a resident of Mayagüez, was found with cocaine and $21 in cash in the Roosevelt residential area of the Dulces Labios neighborhood.
He was brought before Judge Luis Padilla Galiano who determined cause for arrest and imposed a bail of $4,000, which Colberg Toro posted.
The preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 30, 2024.
Colberg Toro, a native of Cabo Rojo, served as a member of the Puerto Rico House of Representatives from 1993 to 2004 with the Popular Democratic Party.
