The Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DDEC), through the “Conexión Laboral” program, continues its tour of recruitment fairs throughout Puerto Rico.
The first fair will be held this Wednesday, November 20, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Puerto Rico Convention Center. It will be aimed at professionals who are looking for employment in the energy sector. It will be held in collaboration with the SESA Summit team where companies such as LUMA, IBTS, Bright Panel, Home Power and Windmar Home, among others, will have more than 300 vacancies in different areas, including engineering, project coordination, sales, marketing, accounting, purchasing and contracting, among others.
The second recruitment fair will be held this Thursday, November 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The fair will be held at Plaza Río Hondo Mall in Bayamón. It will bring together more than 60 employers from all economic sectors and will be offering a variety of job offers immediately.
“We invite those seeking employment to participate in the Conexión Laboral fairs, which offer all the services for successful recruitment. At the DDEC we continue to support the growth of the private sector by bringing it closer to people interested in joining the workforce or seeking new professional opportunities,” urged Secretary Manuel Cidre Miranda.
For her part, Jenny Mar Cañón Feliciano, Assistant Secretary of Federal Programs and Director of Conexión Laboral, highlighted, “our fairs are distinguished because participants find everything in one place, such as help in preparing their resume, a variety of job offers, interviews with employers, educational workshops and sign language for those who need this communication alternative, among other services. It is a unique opportunity to obtain a job, so we encourage citizens to attend and evaluate our available positions.”
Conexión Laboral is the agency designated by the Government of Puerto Rico to administer federal funds under Title I of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). It aims to encourage and develop workforce talent by investing in education, training and employment.
