The Cerro de los Mártires Coordinator invites the people of Puerto Rico to the commemoration of the murder of the young men Arnaldo Darío Rosado and Carlothes Soto Arriví, to be celebrated July 25 on the Cerro Maravilla.
Since 1978, except for the two years of the pandemic, the Coordinator, founded by the attorney José Enrique Ayoroa Santaliz, has commemorated this recognizing its impact beyond the independence struggles.
This commemoration remains relevant because of the repression that has transcended the independence sectors to include those who defend natural resources, labor rights and the essential public services.
The acts will be held from 8:30 in the morning, in front of the crosses of the young murdered men and will be dedicated tot he worker’s leader Ricardo Santos Ramos, known for his struggle for the rights of the workers and the energy service as a human right.
The principle message will be made by Juan Dalmau Ramírez, Secretary General of the Puerto Rico Independence Party and candidate for governor for the PIP-MCV Aliance.
Other messages will be offered by José Rivera Rivera on the situation of pensions, Sonia Santiago Hernández on the situation in Palestine and Martha Quiñones on the context of the repression in the 1970s
After the political act, various musical interpretations will be presented with the participation of Julia Rita Rodríguez, Raúl Grant, Mikie Rivera and Joe Rivera.
